Michael Gallant first cemented himself to the piano at age 5, and made a splash
in suburban Maryland by playing the theme from the movie "Batman" on a
piano in the middle of a shopping mall. It rocked.
Michael is a composer, keyboardist, singer, author, and songwriter living in San Francisco. He has interviewed such artists as Justin Timberlake, Billy Joel, Herbie Hancock, Tori Amos, Chick Corea, and Dave Brubeck for Keyboard magazine, where he holds the position of Associate Editor. Michael has received commissions to create music for a number of live theatre productions, including the Studio Theatre's acclaimed staging of Caryl Churchill's "Far Away" in Washington, D.C. In 2007, his music was featured in the Studio's production of Martin McDonagh's "The Pillowman," and his work was also heard in the New York show "Five Story Walkup" at the 13th Street Repertory Theatre. Michael writes, sings, and plays keyboard for several San Francisco-based rock and funk bands.
